Itinerary

Day 1: Rel Airport - Puerto Madryn
Arrival in the airport, reception and transfer to the selected hotel.

Day 2: Puerto Madryn - Península Valdés
The tour is called PENINSULA VALDES.
WHALE SEASON - Between the months of June and December,
The tour begins early morning (in schedule to coordinate with the passenger) towards the Valdés Peninsula Provincial Reserve, a Protected Natural Area, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. The assengers will get picked up by the hotel where they staying. At the entrance to the reserve, Puesto el Desempeno, the passengers must pay the entrance fee. Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center is located a few kilometers from the Puesto. The Isthmus is a strip of land of 6 km of width, that unites the Valdes peninsula with the province of Chubut, in Argentina. It is a strategic place to observe the two gulfs that bathe its coasts, the San José Gulf to the north and the Nuevo Gulf to the south. Inside there is an exhibition that shows the fauna, flora, geology and history of the area.
La Isla de los Pajaros (The Island of the Birds) is a small island located near the coast of the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus. On the coast there is a viewpoint that allows you to see the island and the fauna that exists in this area and the surroundings. In addition there is a service of faunas that provide information on the fauna and flora of the zone. On the nearby coast of the Ameghino Isthmus, Fort San José was located, a Spanish colonist attempt that was destroyed in 1810.
After approximately an hour of travel, you will go up to Puerto Pirámides, where you will embark for the Traditional Regular whale watching (optional), between June and December.
Once the sighting is completed, passengers will have time to take a lunch break (optional). The town has different establishments for the most varied taste of the passengers. In time to coordinate with the guide, the excursion continues and goes into the peninsula of Valdés.
In the route (gravel roads) you will be able to observe the most varied type of wild fauna: guanacos, mulitas, choiques, maras, foxes, birds. We then take the center road to go to the Caleta Valdés Provincial Reserve, a reserve that has been there since 1983. La Caleta Valdés is a lagoon that reaches 35 km in a north-south direction, located to the east of the Valdés peninsula. This strip of land is composed of boulder, dirt and sand and encloses a portion of sea connected through a small mouth with the Argentinean sea. In some months of the year (between August and April) it is used by the southern elephant seals, given its protection of the sea and the winds, becoming one of the few continental landmarks for this species
We continue along the coastal road to the south, to the area of the Punta Delgada Lighthouse (it cannot be accessed, except in private tours), thus undertaking the return trip through the southern road of the peninsula. While we make our way back, on the right you can see the Salinas Grandes and Chica (salt fields), which are big circular endoreic depressions due to tectonic subsidence. Such depression created a temporary lagoon that, when dried, created salt fields ("salinas" and "salitrales") of medium dimensions. It is located 42 meters below sea level, being the lowest point of this province and one of the lowest points of Argentina (in fact it was considered the lowest point of the country, the Lagoon of the Carbón in the province Of Santa Cruz is the lowest today).
Observations:
- The route of the tour is: Puerto Madryn, Ameghino Isthmus, Puerto Pirámides, Caleta Valdés, Punta Delgada (without entrance to the lighthouse), and return to Puerto Madryn.
- The order of the tour can vary according to climatic conditions, whale watching in Puerto Piramides being a priority.
- In the case that a part of the tour is cancelled by climatic conditions, no reimbursement will be given.

- The Campo Faro Punta Delgado hotel, because it is a private property, allows access only to passengers who have lunch there.
- In case the passengers cannot sail due to bad weather conditions, they will be given a card so that they can make the corresponding reclamation claim provided if the navigation was included in the tour. In case they have the possibility of returning to Puerto Pirámides to sail the next day (or when the weather allows it), they must pay the corresponding fee of the transfer.
- Not included in the price are: the entrance to the fauna reserve, navigation and lunch.
- This tour has an approximate route of 400 kms. (Half of it on gravel) and an estimated duration of 10 hours.
