Vinciguerra Glacier Small Group Trek from Ushuaia

From 08:00 am, we will make hotel pick-up and begin the trip to the Andorra´s Valley, the place where many neighbors settled down and formed one of the spontaneous urbanizations characteristic of Ushuaia.  

At 08:30, after we leave the vehicle, the tour continues along a thaw river. We will find wet and slippery ground, so it is important to wear appropriate footwear. Once we are in the forest, the ascendant is constant (it is intense at the beginning) but it becomes less demanding near the vegetation line, about 600 meters above sea level, where we will arrive at about 10.30 am. Once above the tree line, the views of the steep peaks of the mountain range that surrounds the valley where the hike began are surprising. 

At 11.30 am, the ascent continues along a stream of water that feeds into a glacial lagoon where, a few decades ago, the Vinciguerra Glacier used to break and release icebergs. Although today the glacier has retreated a few tens of meters from the lagoon, the glacier is even more interesting because of the caves that are formed and the magical gravitation that it still has in this area of impressive views. Close 12:30, we will arrive at the glacier base, where we will have lunch. One hour later, we will start the descent to arrive in our vehicles around 16:00hs and return to Ushuaia central hotels.
