Description
Our Turquoise Lagoon and Carabajal Mount Trekking tour will take you explore one of the most attractive and less visited places of Ushuaia. It offers the opportunity to visit areas of incomparable beauty, such as the Tierra Mayor Valley, the Valley and Mount Carbajal and the Turquoise Lagoon. Our expert local guides will accompany you in this wonderful experience, through trails that go deep into the forest, to finally reach a summit with a privileged panoramic view. Itinerary
The tour begins from the hotel, starting at 8:00 am, with a few minutes trip to Tierra Mayor Valley, where we arrive at 08:30 am to begin an intense hike. The first part of the walk consist of a slope trail with a pronounced inclination, in which the hundred-year-old lengas of the sub-antartic forest accompanies the walker. After 45 or 60 minutes (09:30 am) of demanding trek, the forest is left behind and, from the top, you begin to enjoy incredible views.
At about 10:15 am we arrive at the Turquoise lagoon, which rewards us with its wonderful colour, typical of glacial origins lagoons.
We continue climbing up a rocky ledge, to reach the top of Mount Carbajal, near noon. From there you can see the trail of the glaciers, which during the last glaciations descended towards the Beagle Channel crossing the valleys Tierra Mayor and Carbajal, forming this landscape. We will take our lunch while enjoying the view and at 1 pm we will start the return to our vehicle on the base. At about 3:30 pm, you will return to your hotel.
