They correspond to a set of impressive artificial islands built by the Uros, an ancient village that inhabits the area. They built these surfaces with blocks of Totora roots, which gives them firmness and stability.
The Uros retain their traditions, their language is Aymara in addition to Spanish. In addition they maintain their traditions, among them the crafts with which they create all kinds of utensils like carpets, bags, embroidery, canes, hats, among others.
Another attraction of the islands is that there are various activities to perform such as walks in reeds rafts and samples of gastronomy.
