The end point of the trail is the Wall of Tears itself, a massive stone wall constructed by prisoners between 1945 and 1959 when Isabela was a penal colony. Your guide will share the compelling history of this site, offering insight into a lesser-known chapter of the Galapagos Islands past.

- Isabela temperatures during hot season (December to May) can reach 30°C (86°F). The humidity makes the air feel hotter.
- Round-trip journey 13 km. with an approximate elevation gain of 50 meters.
- The trail has sandy sections near the town and gravel or dirt paths within the park.
- From the endpoint, on the way back, there’s a rather long downhill section with a slight incline. It’s crucial to go slowly on this part.
- Growing on the road’s sides, there is a thorn-protected plant or puncture weed. To avoid a flat tire, ride in the middle of the road.
