It is the capital of Ecuador. It is located in the volcano Pichincha. It possesses the best preserved historical center of the world, in the middle of mountainous landscapes, being the highest second capital, after La Paz, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
Also, it possesses other tourist attractions as natural areas, as the hill El Panecillo, the cable railway, which allows admiring the beautiful landscape, the zoo, and Tumbaco's valleys and Chillos’ valleys. For being a city surrounded by mountains, located in what is known as the "Avenue of the Volcanoes", where several sports can be realized as ascent, trekking, biking, and rafting in the Quijos River.
