Due to its immense diversity of endemic flora and fauna, they have been considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1978. Here we can find species such as sea turtles, iguanas, sea birds such as albatrosses and cormorants, and wonderful coral reefs.
Known for being studied by Charles Darwin due to its endemic fauna, they are one of the most important tourist attractions of Ecuador.
