LAGO TITICACA
Know Lago Titicaca
Lake Titicaca is approximately 70 kilometers west of the city of La Paz and corresponds to the largest navigable lake in the world. It is located at 3812 meters above sea level and has two spaces: Lake Maggiore or Lake Chuchito and Lake Menor or Lake Wiñay Marka.
It was considered a sacred lake by the Incas and in general of the towns that inhabited next to its waters like the Aymaras. We can find part of its culture still in the peninsula of Copacabana, the Isla del Sol - one of the biggest of the lake - and Isla de la Luna.
It is one of the most important tourist destinations in Bolivia and its visitors can enjoy archaeological, cultural, typical customs, as well as its impressive landscapes.
